During the entire process with this painting, I felt it was going somewhere, telling me something.  I layered on paint slowly, not wanting to lose whatever it was that called to me.  Yesterday I did some scraping away work, some scratched-in writing and I found the balance of the thing.  I call it The Way Home, because somehow for me it points to a place in the distance that I am just beginning to recognize.
